This Week on Knight Life
We practice free throws with our kids to compete, men join because of what they see in us, we meet to plan for membership growth and leadership and we reflect on who we are.
Hello, I’m Mike Gaspers –back with you for our half hour of information, inspiration and invitation around the activities of the Iowa Knights of Columbus.

Overview of the Podcast Free Throw Leadership
B-Ball playoffs have our attention now but back in March Knights hosted the annual state free throw contest. Each year councils host local contests and winners move through district and regional competition to reach the state contest.
Knights like all parents get involved as families with youth oriented activities. Thanks Jason for reporting from the free throw event. To see all the winners see the news post.
Back in January I was in Sioux City for a combined district meeting. Jim Weber talked with me about being in the Knights and accepting Grand Knight for 11038 Blessed Sacrament.
Jim’s District Deputy is Kerry Bressler. We talked about leadership and membership growth in the Knights following his district meeting.
A leader with much success last year is Dave Sanger Grand Knight of the Monona Council in Northeast Iowa. Since becoming Grand Knight the council is more active and growing. I spoke with Dave about what it means to him to be a Knight.
The state officers have been having huddle meetings around the state to listen to our members and their concerns. While in Fairfield I had the opportunity to meet Don Paul II a convert to Catholicism and active brother Knight for a number of years.
This week’s Knights to Christ reflection from Steve Hesprich is focused on being first rate examples of Christian men.
Thank you Steve Hesprich, Jason Follett and Tony Miller for our free throw report. And a big Thank you to Johnathon Eltrevoog making us sound good each week.

We are a family friendly fraternity. We place God First in our lives and then with mercy and in charity act courageously to serve others.
If you feel prompted to give something back and want to become more of the Catholic man you were hoping to be, join us as we make a difference serving our church, our communities and our families.
I’m Mike Gaspers, thank you for listening. Feeling inspired? Then courageously Go Make A Difference in the World by your words and by your deeds.
